Quotation Booklet

Quotation are used when the characters speak. The author stops talking and instead the characters start. The author shows that the character is talking by using quotation marks. We read lots of books and tallied quotation marks when we were reading. We also looked at Halloween stories and when the quotation marks showed up, we all shouted quotation mark!

The booklets were Halloween themed and I thought they were really fun because Miss Crowley taught it to us. The booklet was about going into house and meeting different creatures that talked to us. We had to say what they were saying.

Like the cat in my book he was saying, "Fish sound delicious to me!" And for the ghost it said... It shouted, "Hi, my name is Miss Crowley." My spider screamed, "I am arachnid! Not an insect!"

It was really fun and we've learned a lot about quotation marks since we've done them.
