Moths!

Our silkworms turned turned into moths! They came out of their cocoons and they were no longer silkworms! They were moths. Everyday during Science I would tell Mrs. Wessels that they were hatching or they were laying eggs. They love to their wings in class and scare us when we are doing work. They are white and they little brown eyebrows. We had so much fun watching them grow up and become moths! It is cool to learn about life cycles!

Corey Rosen Schwartz

On Tuesday we got a package from Corey Rosen Schwartz! She sent us stickers and bookmarks. She saw our blog and she wanted to send them to us. It was so nice of her. We really like her books. We love all her books. My favorite book is "The Three Ninja Pigs," but lots of kids in our class like her book, "Goldi Rocks and the Three Bears" best. They are all good! You should read them! She is such a cool author! By: Cat

Multiplication Storybooks

The Multiplication Storybooks are very awesome to make. We had to write the answer and draw a picture of what it equals. By: Kitten

We had to draw pictures of the multiplication problems. It was really fun but I found it kind of hard. By: Grizzly Bear

They were so fun to do but a little bit hard. We really like learning multiplication! By: Giraffe

Delicious Adverbs and Gumball Fractions!

Adverbs were really fun! An adverb is a word that describes an adjective, a verb or another adverb and answers the question how, when or where. We made ice cream cones and we had to write sentences that had adverbs. We had lots of fun! By: Giraffe

We got to learn about adverbs! We loved learning about them by making ice cream cones. Miss Crowley told us to top off sentences with adverbs. My ice cream cone said.. He plays. He plays carefully. He plays outside. He plays today. It was lots of fun! By: Roly Poly

In Math last week we made Gumball machines that had fractions at the bottom. We told how many Gumballs we had using fractions. How you make a fraction is you put the total amount of items or pieces on the bottom and what you are looking for on the top. Fractions are cool! By: Python

It was fun to make gumball machines, using fractions. I put two of each color gumball in my machine. So I had 2/12 yellow gumballs, and 2/12 everything else! By: Parrot

Art Vistas Show!

All year we have made awesome art projects with Art Vistas. Last week they put on a show! By: Snake

One of our classmates, Grizzly Bear, won because he did a great job on his bubblegum mask! It's a funny mask because he's blowing a huge pink bubble! By: Kitten

At the Art Vistas show we saw all the art the whole school made! By: Elephant
We really enjoyed the art show! It was really fun! By: Grizzly Bear

Science Night

A Science Night in 4J we got to make these thing that roll. We made it with a straw, a rubber band, and a cap to a water bottle. Basically we made a wheel and then you would twist the straw and it would roll by itself. It didn't make electricity but it made friction. By: Bunny

At Science in 2MC we got to make moon shapes using oreos. Moon shapes are called phases. One of the shapes is called a crescent. After we finished making the shapes we got to eat the oreo. My sister and Lion's sister just ate them without making shapes. The moon is delicious! By: Rhino

At Science Night in the Science Room you got to hold snakes! There was a big iguana! I was too scared to hold one, but it was super cool! By: Cheetah

At Science Night in First Grade you got to make gunk. You had to keep squishing it until it rolled into a ball that you could bounce around. There were lots of cool colors. We had green gunk. By: King Kong and Baby Pig

In 5LB in our buddy's classroom, we learned about magnetic stuff. What we did is we put a magnet in a copper tube and it slows down! The more powerful the magnet the slower it goes. If you put a magnet  in a plastic tube, it will not work because it is not magnetic! By: Lion

We loved Science Night! By: the 2MC animals

Fractured Fairy Tale Centers

We did fractured fairy tale centers. We read a regular fairy tale and the fractured version in each center. Then we had to write the problem and solution and we had to write the evil and the good characters in them. You have to write which version you like better and how they are a different settings, events, characters or perspective.

One of the centers was the "Three Little Pig" and the "Three Ninja Pigs." Another center was, "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" and "Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs." My Favorite Fractured Fairy tale so far is the "Three Ninja Pigs" because when the pigs were training to be a ninja. We are having so much fun working with Fairy Tales! By: Dog

2MC's Dream Houses

We made our dream houses and we drew the inside of our dream houses and labeled each room in our house. We found the area and the perimeter of our houses. We had so much fun making them! It really helped us learn. By: Butterfly

Silk Worms!

During Science for the last few weeks, Mrs. Wessels gave us some silk worms. Most of them are now making cocoons. By: Hamster

Before they started making cocoons, they were eating lots and lots of leaves. Ms. Crowley got annoyed because they kept escaping and crawling all our counters. By: Cheetah

They are really really fun to have in the classroom. I am excited for them to become moths. By: Humming Bird
