Timelines

We made timelines. Timelines show a person's life. They can help show history and help guess what might happen in the future. They show time on a line. We practiced reading timelines and using them to learn about a topic. We then made our own timelines. I put when I was born and when I learned to walk and other things on my timeline. We thought of events and cut them out and glued them on our line. It was lots of fun. I hope you make one too!

Pinwheels 4 Peace

We did the pinwheels for peace with our buddies. We have fifth grade buddies. People all over the world make pinwheels to remind people that we need peace in the world. We put them by the sidewalk so whenever people drove by they would see them. We made them out of paper, a pencil and a pin. The fifth graders helped us with the pin. It was very fun.

Applesauce

At Gizdich Ranch we got some apples. Spider's mom peeled, and sliced the apples. She aslo put them in lemon so they wouldn't get too brown. We made this very good applesauce out of them. We learned about measurement and what it is important to do the right amount and have the right unit.

In this picture we are adding 1 cup of the sugar to our apples.

After we put all the ingredients in, we put it the crockpot and plugged it in. It cooked for the whole day.

Then at the end of the day we all got to try the best applesauce ever.

Look how yummy it looks!

These are some of the ingredients we used. If you want to learn how to make this applesauce, here is the recipe. We had fun doing this. We loved making applesauce.

Penguins

In second grade we made cool penguins. It was fun. We colored them and painted around the penguin. Making penguins are fun to do in second grade. Penguins are cool, but before we made the penguins, we read a book. It was called, "One cool friend. It was about a boy and a penguin. The boy got the penguin in the story from the aquarium. The penguin was a good friend. Miss Crowley asked us what a good friend is. We think that it is someone that is nice.
