Immigrants at Ellis Island

We learned all about Ellis Island and the immigrants that went through there to get to the United States of America. We traveled in a pretend time machine to Ellis Island. We went back 120 years and we imagined what it was like to be an immigrant. I got to flash the lights for the time machine.

We took pictures and made writings about if we were really immigrants. I really liked it. By: King Kong

St. Patrick's Day

This St. Patrick's Day, we did a clover math sheet where we had to find the numbers that had a nine in the ones, tens or hundreds. and we did a coin sheet where we had to color the odd coins yellow and the even coins brown.

We made leprechauns and painted rainbows behind them. We had to fill up their pots with gold and count how much they had in their pot. We had to write how much it was on the pot.

We made a shamrock out of pipe cleaners and beads with our buddies. We did a word search with our buddies. It was tons of fun!

We had a lot of fun on St. Patrick's Day.

Homophone Book

We read the book, "Dear Deer." Then we all picked homophone pairs like "I and Eye" to create our own book. We each made our own page, and Lion made a page and the cover of the book. We had to write a sentence that had both homophones in it. I wrote the sentence, "I have an eye" and I drew a picture of an eyeball and me.

It was really fun. Check out some of our pages!

We had to use a ruler. We measured in inches. When we were done coloring our picture we made hair. We used yarn. I thought it really helped me get ready for my measurement test. By: Rhino
