Teddy Bear Baptism

Today we got our teddy bears baptized and we learned the steps of baptism with Father Joe. -Cheetah

Check out how cute our teddy bears look in their baptismal gowns. -Bunny

We stood outside the church and Father Joe asked us questions about our bear and whether we were ready for them to become part of the Catholic Church. - Rhino

Then we walked inside the church and asked us some other questions like why we get baptized. -Snake

Then we got to baptize our bears. We poured water on their heads and said, "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the son and of the Holy Spirit."

We asked why we get baptized. - Python

Father Joe then said Baptism that it is so important so we can get to heaven and to help us speak to Jesus. -Lion

He also talked about Chrism or oil that is used to make the sign of the cross on the person being baptized. -Humming Bird

A long time ago oil used to be placed on the heads of kings or queens. Now we use it to remind us that we are all kings or queens with Jesus. -Cat

After the oil we also made the sign of the cross on our bear's ears and mouth. -Baby Pig

We did this to so that we can listen what God has to say and talk to other about God's word. -Cheetah.

Father Joe told us that in an emergency anyone can baptize someone who is dying. -Cobra

We had a fun time with Father Joe doing this. -Butterfly

It was fun baptizing our own Bears. -Dog

It was lots of fun and we learned a lot about Baptism!!! - Hamster
